Before it went up for auction, I had the opportunity to examine the Lady Blunt of Antonio Stradivari.

Having worked as a restorer for over 25 years, I have been fortunate to view many instruments of some of the greatest makers who have ever lived. Although I do not make meticulous copies of the work of the old masters, I have learned so much over the years taking instruments apart. I am deeply influenced by Pietro Guarneri of Venice and his father Andrea.

I started collecting wood during my apprencticeship. All of the wood is at least 50 years old, while most of the wood comes from trees cut in the 1960s, some from the 1940's. It has been slowly air dried over the years. It is stable, naturally colored and ideally suited for tone.
